Every creative agency today has the same pitch.
All variations of the same thing: “We’re not an agency.” But they function like one. They have employees, working under a fixed hierarchical structure, who are expected to give their 400% in return for a 15% annual pay raise. The result of this disparity is burnout. Across all creative teams.
We believe this burnout is the reason why the agency model fails to deliver clutter-breaking work for most brands. Even though its art is in the right place.
We believe we can change that.
Forget being an agency, we’re not even a traditional company. Ours is a hybrid model. Apart from our in-house talent, we also work with our network of
highly-experienced freelance writers who collaborate with us on a project-to-project basis. We call them members. Not everyone gets to be a
Bare Bones member. They are hand-picked by our founders based on two things: past work and present ethics.
This is a win-win for everyone.
Clients win because they get the best writers who aren’t working for a small appraisal. They are directly working for the client. They have only one goal. Crack the damn brief. And crack it well.
Writers win because they’re highly incentivised for the work they do. They get to claim direct credit for their work and they get compensated for every project.
And Bare Bones Collective wins because of the two reasons stated above.
Why the Name?
We believe that every great piece of creative work is held together by a strong set of bare bones.
The bare bones of a great TV commercial is a strong idea.
The bare bones of a great movie is a strong script.
The bare bones of a strong script is a strong premise. Strong characters.
Each member of Bare Bones Collective works with this code to create compelling stories for our clients.
